Oceanic Whitetip SharkOceanic Whitetip Shark. Found throughout the world in tropical waters, the Oceanic Whitetip Shark is most often found far from shore in very deep water. Spending most of it’s time near the surface, oceanographer Jacques Cousteau considered this to be the world’s most dangerous shark that has been linked to attacking the survivors of ship and plane accidents at sea. Recent studies indicate that populations have declined by as much as 70%, due in part to their use in shark fin soup. The distinctive rounded dorsal, anal and tail fins are beautifully tipped in white with mottled patterns.
Oceanic Whitetip Shark Mounts are available online from King Sailfish Mounts. You can even order online. KSM individually crafts each finely detailed mounted fish by hand, one-at-a-time. Every reproduction is airbrushed to resemble that species’ most vivid and striking color patterns. Initially formed to promote the release of local Atlantic sailfish, King Sailfish continues to be the leader in Marine Conservation–now offering all sizes and species of Saltwater Fish Mounts, including the Oceanic Whitetip Shark.
