Longbill Spearfish. The Longbill Spearfish is known to occur in the western Atlantic from New Jersey to Venezuela, including the Gulf of Mexico. It can be distinguished by its slender lightweight body and its dorsal fin. Spearfish are pelagic, offshore deepwater fish that feed at or near the surface. Available date suggest that the longbill spearfish matures by the age of two years and rarely lives past three years of age. Information provided by the I.G.F.A.
