Yellowtail Snapper Mounts.  In the western Atlantic, the Yellowtail Snapper is common from Massachusetts to Brazil, including Bermuda, the Bahamas and throughout the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico.  The deeply forked tail is bright yellow, hence its name.  Yellowtail are mainly associatied with coral reefs.  This immensely popular species is an excellent sport fish and considered by many to be the tastiest of all the snappers.  Information provided by The International Game Fish Association.
