Schoolmaster Snapper Mounts.  The Schoolmaster Snapper occurs in the Atlantic from Massachusetts to Brazil and is very common throughout Florida, the Bahamas and the Caribbean.  Schoolmasters can be found along mangrove shorelines on out to the reef.   It is a colorful fish with bright yellow fins and tail, often with vertical stripes and a blue pinstripe just below the eye on the face.  The lower portions are more silver than the usual white or pearl coloration of many snappers.   Smaller in size, the I.G.F.A. All-Tackle World Record for Schoolmaster snappers is 13-pounds, 4-ounces, caught in Key Largo, the Florida Keys.
