Rainbow Trout Mounts.  The Rainbow Trout is native to the west coast of North America from southern Alaska to Durango, Mexico and inland as far as cental Alberta and Idaho and Nevada.  It has been introduced extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada and in other countries as well.  Coloration varies greatly with size, habitat and spawning periods.  The rainbow trout is an extremely valuable fish, especially to sport fishermen who often catch rainbow trout on fly.  Rainbow trout hybridize with cutthroats and golden trout.  For more information on the Rainbow Trout, log on to the I.G.F.A. website.
