Fish Blanks by King Sailfish Mounts

Being located in south Florida, we specialize in all of the popular species that are found in tropical destinations like Florida, Bahamas, Gulf of Mexico, and the Tropical Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans.  That doesn't mean we don't have some nice freshwater fish molds also. 

KSM Fish Blanks are cast using fiberglass and are lightweight and easy to handle.  You can use nearly any kind of paint from the finest lacquers to housepaint with good results.

Economical Fish Blanks (Half-Sided) As the name implies, these blanks allow you to paint and display full-size, beautiful and anatomically accurate fish mounts in the least expensive manner as possible.  Also called Low-Profile fish, the front side of the fish only is included, and the back side of the mount is concave.  It is just the front shell of the fish.  The side fin is attached securely to the body, does not protrude and cannot break off.  Generally includes one ventral fin.  Comes ready-to-paint.  There is no prep work required -- all you need is some paint and a little artistic talent.

Taxidermist Fish Blanks.  Highly detailed and cast from new molds, KSM Taxidermist Fish Blanks are Nearly-Ready-For-Painting.  They include all prep work such as finishing of the seams, installation of ventral fins, mouth installation, putty work and priming.  All you do is attach one fin (included), install the eye (and teeth, if required) and hanger.  Then paint.

Mouths.  All blanks include finished mouth interiors, ranging from highly detailed to minimal detail.  The level of detail is indicated on the Specification Page for each Fish Blank. 

Open Gills.  Some blanks include fully finished and opened gill coverings.  Largemouth Bass and Tarpon are examples of fish blanks that come with open gills, standard.  This is indicated for each fish model.

Backside Detail.  Many fish are perfect on the backside and can be easily used for double-sided fish.  This is indicated on the Specification Page for each Fish Blank.

Packing.  Most Fish Blanks are securely sandwiched between two sheets of cardboard and shipped by Fed Ex Ground.  Breakable parts like the bill of a Sailfish are protected with strips of wood.

OPTIONAL:   If you choose, we can supply any of the above mentioned taxidermist fish blanks in Ready-To-Paint condition, meaning that all you need to do is paint it.  Of course, this costs a little more.  Select from the "Option" section in the right-hand column of the Specification Page.
